This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 14, 2018 at 2:30 pmQnap Systems, Inc. announced the TS-x32XU rackmount NAS series, consisting of the 4-bay TS-432XU, 8-bay TS-832XU and 12-bay TS-1232XU with single power and redundant power models to choose from.
The TS-x32XU series inherits the classic exterior design and all features of the TS-x31XU series and combines it with a 64-bit Alpine AL-324 ARMv8 Cortex-A57 quad-core 1.7GHz processor by Annapurna Labs, an Amazon company, and DDR4 memory.
These hardware improvements bring performance boosts and enable support of snapshots, Qtier 2.0 tiered storage and RAID-50/60. With the cost efficiency of the TS-x32XU, small businesses can benefit from faster operations and simplified workflows.
Qnap expansion cards
The TS-x32XU series comes with two 10GbE SFP+ network ports, two Gb network ports, four USB 3.0 Type A ports and one PCIe 2.0 x2 slot.
The hardware is capable of supporting versatile daily operational needs with additional expansion opportunities provided by the PCIe slot. Available, the company’s expansion cards include the QXG-10G1T Multi-Gigabit wired network adapter, QM2 M.2 SSD/10GBase-T expansion cards and the USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gb/s) Type A expansion cards. With added hardware capabilities, the TS-x32XU NAS series can be used in diversified applications and expanded to match growing business needs.
“The dual 10GbE ports and single PCIe slot of the TS-x32XU series can meet demands of small businesses when they are investing in new IT infrastructure: high performance, high cost efficiency and ease of expansion,” said Joan Hsieh, product manager, Qnap. “The TS-x32XU series is also the ideal choice for businesses deploying their first 10GbE high-speed networked storage or private cloud solution.“

The TS-x32XU series is powered by the QTS OS which is intuitive and feature-rich with versatile functionality for data protection and workflow acceleration. Users can enable snapshots for volume and LUN protection/restoration, use Hybrid Backup Sync for local/remote/cloud backup, restore and sync, and enable SSD caching and/or Qtier 2.0 tiered storage (with 2.5-inch SATA SSDs or M.2 SSDs, via QM2 expansion cards). Visible performance and reliability improvements provide a smoother and more efficient daily workflow. Additional apps from the company and third parties are available from the QTS App Center for expanding the potential applications of the TS-x32XU series.
