Unrevealed Hotel Chain Customer of Overland-Tandberg RDX Data Protection and DR Solution

Overland-Tandberg, a brand of Sphere 3D Corp., was awarded a just under $1 million order from an existing hotel chain customer.

Shipments against this order started in 1Q18 and are expected to complete in 2Q18.

Since 2013, the RDX technology has been the corporate mandated backup and archive solution for every site of this hotel chain. Each of their thousands of locations has multiple RDX QuikStor drives deployed that maintain daily backup of their video surveillance and reservations activity to an RDX media cartridge.

At day’s end, that RDX media cartridge is then taken to a centralized offsite facility for archiving and DR, and then replaced with a new cartridge at the hotel site for the next day, thus providing 24×7 backup protection.
