Sans Digital: AccuRAID SAN iSCSI and FC 1 Series and 5 Series Storage Systems

9,000MB/s and 4,500MB/s sequential RW, 900,000 sequential IO/s

SANS Digital Technology, Inc. released the AccuRAID SAN iSCSI and Fibre Channel 1 Series and 5 Series.

A cost-efficient SAN solution with enterprise class dependability specifically built for SMBs.

The AccuRAID 1 Series and 5 Series is the latest in the company’s AccuRAID family, combining enterprise-level data storage hardware together with the latest feature packed SAN storage operation system.

Businesses are constantly saving data generated by their employees, customers, and day-to-day business practices. The constant increase of both structured and unstructured data creates additional needs for storage devices. Data storage solutions should not only have the ability to conform to these expansion needs, but also maximize efficiency at low cost. The AccuRAID 1 Series and 5 Series meet these demands and offers a range of enclosures that allows users to expand when needed.

AccuRAID 1 Series

AccuRAID  5 Series

To meet the demands of users, the firm offers a range of solutions including its first 2U 26-bay form factor SAN array, the AR226T1R and the AR226T5R. Available in both dual active/active and single controller (upgradeable) versions with 10GbE ports built in, and additional 16Gb FC and 10GbE iSCSI (SFP+ & RJ45) options.

The AccuRAID 1 Series and 5 Series allows hybrid interfaces, so users can use multiple host connectivity types into a single enclosure, allowing for a more versatile data storage solution. With its new hardware architecture and leveraging Intel Corp. processor, 12Gb SAS backplane, built-in 10GbE LAN, and the  SANOS 4.0’s performance, the series can deliver 9,000MB/s sequential read and 4,500MB/s sequential write in throughput and over 900,000 sequential IO/s.

Built for use on Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems, the AccuRAID 1 Series and 5 series is a cost-effective SAN storage solution for SMBs, for backups, surveillance video, and for disaster recovery. With enterprise features built-in, the solution helps to reduce overall cost and achieve efficiency.

The built-in SANOS 4.0 operating system handles all the data service engine, management service, and system resource manager. It maintains the AccuRAID with dual active-controller by HAC (High-Availability Control) to integrate the communication of two controllers. The OS also acts as a bridge between system front-end (host side) and back-end (SAN system infrastructures and HDDs).

Advance RAID and RAID EE technology
The most efficient and economical data protection method for enterprise and SMBs remains to be RAID technology. Using RAID has two advantages – high availability and better performance. SANOS supports RAID levels including RAID 0, 1, 0+1, 3, 5, 6, 10, 30, 50, 60, N-way mirror, and also RAID EE technology including RAID 5EE, 6EE, 50EE, 60EE for reducing the long rebuild risk.
RAID EE adds more spare disks (RAID EE spares) in a disk group to separate the original global, local, and dedicated spares. Spare areas are preserved in each stripe of the disk group and are distributed in the disk group by means of disk rotation. When disks failed in a group, missing data is rebuilt into the preserved spare areas. Since all disks in the set are destination of rebuilt data, the bottleneck of traditional RAID rebuild is gone, rebuild performance improved. If new disks are added in, data in spare areas are copied back to new joined disks.
