Ray Schafer Director of Competitive Intelligence, Rubrik

Former research director at Gartner

Ray Schafer became last month director of competitive intelligence at Rubrik, Inc.

 

 

 

 

 

He was formerly, from August 2016 to April 2018, research director for analyst firm Gartner to provide customers with insight in technology trends and advice for best practices around data storage, backup and archive.

Previously he was:

  • Data center resiliency architect at Veritas Technologies for one year
  • Founding member and CTO of InQuinox for more than 7 years
  • Service consultant, principal at Brocade from November 2007 to July 2008.
  • Senior technical product manager at Symantec for a little more than one year
  • Senior product specialist at Veritas for 5 years
  • Senior principal system engineer at Symantec for the same period
  • Senior sales engineer at The Kernel Group for more than 5 years
  • Software engineer at IBM between 1992 and 1996
