Cirrus Data Solutions Completes Interoperability With Dell EMC Primary Storage Portfolio

With Data Migration Server

Cirrus Data Solutions, Inc. (CDS), in SAN data migration and data management technology, announced its full interoperability with the Dell EMC primary storage portfolio.

With CDS’ Data Migration Server (DMS), businesses are able to securely migrate data from legacy storage architectures to the Dell EMC storage portfolio in less time than required for traditional data migration solutions.

Using DMS, businesses can modernize their data center with non-disruptive deployment, and the availability of near zero downtime cutovers, while taking advantage of the power of the primary Dell EMC storage portfolio.

DMS is qualified with Dell EMC VMAX, Dell EMC Unity, XtremIO, ScaleIO, and SC Series arrays which means it has never been easier or faster for an enterprise to modernize its data center with Dell EMC storage solutions.

With the DMS auto-allocation functionality, enterprises using Dell EMC solutions can migrate a limitless volume of data while allocating and provisioning the new LUNs without concerns of typical human errors.

Additionally, the advanced iQoS functionality in DMS enables businesses to utilize the full 24-hour window for data migration without application disruption.

When a business has made the decision to modernize their IT infrastructure, they want to increase their performance, scalability, and lower operating costs fast,” said Wayne Lam, co-founder and CEO, Cirrus. “Our engineering team worked closely with the Dell EMC team to develop these plug-ins. This new functionality drives substantial ease of use for data migration and will rapidly accelerate the pace at which enterprises can modernize their storage systems.

DMS is a single migration technology that enables the movement of data across ‘Any O/S, Any Application, Any Storage’ as well as between data centers and the cloud. The product is based on company’s patented Transparent Datapath Intercept (TDI) and iQoS technologies which enable businesses to migrate data to modern storage environments without manual intervention or downtime. CDS’s iQoS algorithm determines, within a measurement window, what percentage of time the disk is busy. With this data, it is possible for the migration solution to manage how much impact is acceptable to the application systems, enabling the business to maintain ‘Intelligent QoS’ utilizing the entire production day to migrate data.
