Leaving Dell EMC where he was VP of global OEM storage sales and COO for global storage, converged and data protection sales

He comes to BlueData from Dell EMC, where he served most recently as VP of global OEM storage sales and COO for global storage, converged, and data protection sales. With over 20 years of enterprise technology sales experience, he will drive BlueData’s go-to-market strategy and lead its worldwide sales team to accelerate the company’s growth.

BlueData enables enterprises to run containerized big data workloads in a self-service, elastic, and multi-tenant environment – whether on-premises, in the public cloud, or in a hybrid architecture. Using the BlueData EPIC software platform, data science teams can spin up instant clusters and get on-demand access to the applications, data, and infrastructure they need.
The company has received industry awards including Best Big Data Product or Technology: Virtualization from Datanami this past fall, and was recently featured as a trend-setting product in data management and analysis for 2018 by DBTA. In each case, it was recognized for its innovations in using Docker containers to streamline large-scale big data deployments with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and other analytics, machine learning, and data science tools.
These innovations helped the company to boost revenue by 228% in 2017, with new customers including Citigroup, GlaxoSmithKline, GM Financial, Seattle Children’s Hospital, and Tesco Bank. The company also recently announced new distribution agreements in Europe and Japan, in addition to global technology partnerships with Dell EMC and HPE.

Margraves joins BlueData from Dell EMC, where he created the go-to-market strategy for a multi-billion dollar business across multiple business units, dozens of products, and thousands of sellers. Before joining Dell EMC, he was senior director of sales at Hitachi Data Systems.
At BlueData, Margraves will be responsible for WW sales, services, and channels across all regions. He will focus on the company’s growth strategy – including international expansion, developing strategic partnerships, and building a world-class services and support organization. His leadership experience in technology sales, strategy, and business development will help the company continue to scale its business to support a growing customer base and partner ecosystem.
