UV500 2.5-Inch, M.2 2280 and mSATA SSD With Marvell Controller From Kingston Digital

120, 240, 480, 960 and 1,920GB to come, up to 520MB/s and 500MB/s RW

Kingston Digital, Inc., the flash memory affiliate of Kingston Technology company, Inc., is shipping the UV500 family line of SSD products.


Available in multiple form factors, UV500 will be the company’s first 3D NAND-enabled SSD featuring full-disk encryption. UV500 is powered by the Marvell Technology Group Ltd 88SS1074 controller, and combined with 3D NAND flash, delivers R/W speeds of up to 520MB/s and 500MB/s, making it 10x faster than a 7,200rpm HDD.

UV500 improves a system’s overall responsiveness with fast boot, loading and transfer times; and, with no moving parts is far less likely to fail compared to mechanical HDDs. It protects sensitive data with 256-bit AES hardware-based encryption and supports TCG Opal 2.0. It is available in three different form factors (2.5”, M.2 2280, mSATA) to accommodate any client system. UV500 is  a boot drive or for primary storage as it is available in 120, 240, 480, 960 and 1,920GB (*) capacities.

UV500 is backed by a limited 5-year warranty with the firm’s support.

(3) Limited warranty based on five years or SSD ‘Life Remaining’ which can be found using the Kingston SSD Manager. A new, unused product will show a wear indicator value of one hundred, whereas a product that has reached its endurance limit of program erase cycles will show a wear indicator value of one (1).
