Lite-On Electronics Assigned Two Patents

Optical disc drive with multiple optical pick-up heads, SSD using state prediction

Optical disk drive with multiple optical pick-up heads
Lite-On Electronics, (Guangzhou) Limited, Guangzhou, China, and Lite-On Electronics Corporation, Taipei, Taiwan, has been assigned a patent (9,922,675) developed by Shaw, Howard Yuen-Ho, Tsao, Ming-Chun, Chung, Ming-Hung, and Hsu, Shih-Ming, Taipei, Taiwan, for an “optical disk drive with multiple optical pick-up heads.

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: “An optical disk drive with multiple optical pick-up heads is provided. The optical disk drive includes an upper cover, a base, a first carrier member, a second carrier member, a first limiting member, and a second limiting member. The base is disposed under the upper cover. The first carrier member disposed on the base and has a first optical pick-up head. The second carrier member is disposed on the upper cover and has a second optical pick-up head. The first limiting member is used for disposing the first end of the second carrier member on the upper cover. The second limiting member is used for disposing the second end of the second carrier member on the upper cover. The length of the first limiting member is larger than that of the second limiting member.

The patent application was filed on July 12, 2017 (15/647,296).

Solid state storage device using state prediction method
Lite-On Electronics, (Guangzhou) Limited, Guangzhou, China, and Lite-On Electronics Corporation, Taipei, Taiwan, has been assigned a patent (9,922,706) developed by Zeng, Shih-Jia, and Fu, Jen-Chien, Taipei, Taiwan, for a “solid state storage device using state prediction method.

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: “A solid state storage includes a non-volatile memory and a controlling circuit. The non-volatile memory includes a first block. The controlling circuit is connected with the non-volatile memory. The controlling circuit includes a function storage circuit. The function storage circuit stores plural prediction functions. According to plural state parameters corresponding to the first block and a first prediction function of the plural prediction functions, the controlling circuit predicts a read voltage shift of the first block.

The patent application was filed on July 21, 2016 (15/215,913).
