IBM Power Systems Expands Hardware Options

New expanded storage configuration options are available for IBM Hyperconverged Systems powered by Nutanix CS822 servers. These features increase the available maximum per node internal physical storage capacity from 15TB to 45TB.
New SSDs with a HDD feature are available for Power System S821LC and Power System S822LC for big data for Linux servers.
The Power S812 adds support for these configurations:
- A 4-core, 3.026GHz configuration with Linux
- An IBM AIX OS in a 19-inch rack-mount, 2U (EIA units) drawer configuration
The Power S812 supports the following Linux OS levels:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.4, little endian, or later
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12, Service Pack 3, or later
- Ubuntu Server 16.04.3, or later
Planned availability date:
March 16, 2018, for features EKSE, EKSF, EKSG, EKXE, and EKXF
March 23, 2018, for all features except EKSE, EKSF, EKSG, EKXE, and EKXF
