Auto-adaptive system to implement partial write buffering for storage systems dynamic caching
By Francis Pelletier | March 14, 2018 at 2:00 pmShannon Systems Ltd., Shanghai, China, has been assigned a patent (9,898,413) developed by Zhou, Zhen, Shanghai, China, and Yang, Xueshi, Cupertino, CA, for a “auto-adaptive system to implement partial write buffering for storage systems dynamic caching method and system for data storage system.“
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: “An auto-adaptive system to implement partial write buffering for storage systems comprises: dynamically determining a wiring method for a data queue which needs to be written, and on the basis of a determination result, directly writing to a storage medium data suited to being written directly, and as for data suited for being written after being cached, caching the data by a caching device and then writing the data to the storage medium. A dynamic caching system uses the above method. The method and system significantly reduce the space requirements for caching, enable fault tolerance integration, and improve system performance.”
