This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 13, 2018 at 2:30 pm
Highlights:
- Barracuda Backup supports replication to AWS in EMEA for greater flexibility.
- This release offers organisations the ability to further leverage the cloud as a key method for simpler and more cost-effective offsite storage.
- The ability to replicate data to AWS adds another deployment option to help prepare customers for current and future public cloud migrations.
Barracuda Networks, Inc. announced that EMEA organisations using Barracuda Backup have the ability to replicate data from either an on-premises physical or virtual backup appliance to AWS.
This feature provides customers, resellers, and MSPs with improved flexibility and an added option in seeking to protect their data from data loss and potential disasters, including security threats like ransomware, and is available in addition to the ability to replicate to the Barracuda Cloud.
An effective data protection strategy involves replicating data offsite to protect against local disasters and data loss, yet many organisations do not have the resources for a second data centre at a remote site, and need a simpler, more cost-effective solution to replicate backups. Customers, and the resellers and service providers they are working with, are increasingly turning to the cloud as a solution. According to a new Barracuda research report, one in four organisations replicate data to the cloud already and around 15% backup directly to the cloud.
“Efficient data protection, in the cloud or on-premises, includes a strategy to rapidly recover data in the event of data loss or disaster, as well as the many security practices involved in preventing unauthorised access. As a security and data protection company committed to the cloud, Barracuda is positioned to help organisations with these challenges,” explained Chris Ross, SVP of international sales, Barracuda. “Barracuda’s current replication technology allows organisations to more securely and efficiently send data to the Barracuda Cloud or another backup appliance with minimal configuration. The new release gives customers and resellers adopting public cloud the flexibility to replicate data to AWS with the same simplicity – providing a choice of deployment options with the ability to maintain ownership and control of cloud data.“
