For NAS
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 23, 2018 at 2:29 pmOpenDrives, Inc., provider of fast shared storage solutions for the media and entertainment (M&E) industry, announced that its NAS systems are qualified for the Autodesk Flame software platform for visual effects, interactive 3D visual effects, finishing, compositing, color grading, conform, editorial and look development.
“The OpenDrives Avalanche NAS system passed all performance benchmarks in our rigorous test suite with ease,” said Will Harris, Flame family product manager, Autodesk.
As post-production workflows continue to evolve, product interoperability that binds technologies together is increasingly in demand by the M&E market. OpenDrives provides Flame users with reliable, performing shared network storage. This enables Flame workflows to operate faster than real-time and store assets with 100% data integrity, enhancing productivity while mitigating risk of downtime and data loss.
Because OpenDrives NAS systems align to standard protocols, multiple platforms and workflows can make use of the same project files without having to duplicate or migrate data. This flexibility empowers creative professionals to work in the software of their choice with all assets shared and available.
“We are very proud to be qualified with Autodesk,” said Scot Gray, principal product manager, OpenDrives. “Flame is an industry-leading product deployed alongside our own systems at many of the most prestigious media companies in the world. This qualification validates OpenDrives as delivering immense value to both companies’ customers, offering an alternative to expensive SANs and dedicated RAIDs. We look forward to deepening our relationship with Autodesk.“
