Integrator ShapeBlue Develops CloudStack Connector Plug-In for Cloudian HyperStore Systems

Cloudian, Inc. announced that ShapeBlue Ltd., an independent integrator of CloudStack technologies, has developed a CloudStack connector plug-in for the company’s HyperStore.

The HyperStore connector is a native open-source Apache CloudStack plug-in that integrates Cloudian S3-compatible storage and the Cloudian Management Console (CMC) into the CloudStack management GUI, allowing CloudStack users to access and manage their own S3 storage areas.

The connector will make it easier for organizations running CloudStack to provide access to S3-compliant object storage with the same user experience as CloudStack, including single sign-on and storage management through the CloudStack UI. Anyone running CloudStack starting with version 4.11, released, will be able to run the connector without the need to externally install it.

“This gives the CloudStack user community the power of Cloudian’s object storage system through an interface that’s already familiar to them,” said Sanjay Jagad, senior director, product solutions, Cloudian. “Extending access to scale-out storage enables service providers delivering public and private IaaS platforms to offer new storage services that meet their customers’ needs in an era of exploding data volumes.“
