NVM Express Elects Promoter Board for 2018

Cavium, Cisco, Dell, Facebook, Intel, Microsemi and NetApp

NVM Express, Inc. elected Cavium, Inc., Cisco, Systems, Inc., Dell, Inc., Facebook, Inc., Intel Corporation, Microsemi Storage Solutions, Inc. and NetApp, Inc. to join their board of directors, the NVM Express Promoters Group.

Existing promoter members include Micron Technology, Inc., Microsoft Corp., Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., Seagate Technology plc, Toshiba Corporation and Western Digital Corporation.

The NVM Express offering an open collection of NVMe specifications and resources on the benefits of non-volatile memory, holds an election for a group of the NVM Express Promoters Group representatives at the end of each year. The elected representatives occupy a two-year term and are eligible for re-election. All NM Express contributor and promoter member companies may run for promoter positions.

Storage architectures are undergoing a sea change with NVM Express playing a pivotal role,” Craig W. Carlson, senior technologist, said. “Cavium is a leader in NVMe and has been actively working with the industry on NVMe over Fabric technologies for both Ethernet and FC for some time, and with our participation on the board of directors we look forward to helping steward the broader NVM Express mission going forward.

The NVM Express Promoter Group is responsible for the operations and financial management of the organization, as well as being the stewards of the specification and standard.
