DataLocker Inc., Overland Park, KS, has been assigned a patent (9,875,194) developed by Kim, Sanghoon, Gyeonggi-do, Korea, for a “security system for external data storage apparatus and control method thereof.“

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: “A security system for an external data storage apparatus and control method thereof are disclosed. The system utilizes a preset identification, (ID) and input ID to selectively permit data to be written and/or read.”

The patent application was filed on April 16, 2012 (13/448,101).
