Cinema28 turns a QNAP NAS into a multimedia hub that provides greater convenience for users to stream media files to connected devices throughout every corner of their home.
In addition to continuous development in storage-related applications, thr company also strives to provide home users with a greater home entertainment experience. The Cinema28 app integrates the streaming functionalities of QNAP’s existing applications (including Photo Station, Video Station and Music Station) into a single app, allowing users to centrally manage all of the media files on their NAS and linked storage devices. No matter where the playback devices (including PC, smart TV, and mobile devices) are located, users can drag-and-drop files or playlists onto them for direct playback.
“Cinema28 makes multimedia streaming more intuitive and easy by allowing users to manage and play all their media files from a single interface. With Cinema28’s support for up to 8 streaming methods and combined with the excellent transcoding capabilities of QNAP NAS, we aim to provide users with enhanced multimedia functionality alongside the core NAS experience,” said Bennett Cheng, product manager, QNAP.
Cinema28 features a simple interface, allowing users to view the status of each device, including the devices being used, by which NAS user, and currently-playing media. By integrating with QNAP’s Qsirch search engine, users can enter in keywords, apply filters to quickly find needed media files.
Cinema28 can play audio using speakers connected to the NAS line-out, USB ports, and Bluetooth devices. Video playback is supported using the NAS HDMI port, HD Player, DLNA devices, Apple TV, and Chromecast.
Cinema28 is available from the QTS App Center
System requirements:
- The Media Streaming add-on must be installed from the QTS App Center before using Cinema28.
- Cinema28 requires a QNAP NAS with QTS 4.3.0 (or later).
