Intuit Absorbed Applatix Silently
In open source workflow engine for Kubernetes
By Philippe Nicolas | January 31, 2018 at 2:27 pmBased in Sunnyvale, CA, and founded in 2015 and by ex leaders from Data Domain, Nicira, Beebop, Tintri an Apigee like Pratik Wadher, CEO, Saradhi Sreegiriraju, CPO and Ed Lee, CTO, Applatix Inc. is acquired by Intuit, Inc. in a non-public transaction.
It’s a rapid move realized just two and half years after company’s inception. The info is published on the Applatix blog but nothing more and above all no information at all on the Intuit web site.
The company has raised $15.7 million in 2015 from Lightspeed Ventures Partner but the company is not listed on their VC web site.
The container wave has changed how applications are developed and Applatix founders have realized the business opportunity. They built Argo, an open source workflow engine for Kubernetes, the de-facto open source standard for automating deployment, scaling and management of containerized applications. The firm often thinks of Argo as a ‘shell’ for the cloud. The team also develops a second product named Claudia to analyze AWS costs.
We anticipate more M&A around container in 2018.
