This patent describes a technique of caching deduplicated LUN metadata in a fashion that is sensitive to the different and changing spatial and temporal access characteristics of different workloads in a multi-tenant system, such as the firm’s Flash Storage Platform 7450. In this way, performance and cost may be improved, whilst providing differentiated service to each tenant.
