Hal Woods CTO, Datera

Datera, Inc., provider of data services platform software for traditional and cloud-native applications, announced that Hal Woods has joined the company as its CTO.

Reporting to founder and CEO Marc Fleischmann, he will work with customers, prospects, ecosystem partners and industry influencers to identify new opportunities, use cases, and technical requirements to develop and drive the overall technology vision and roadmap for the company’s next phase of growth.

Woods brings more than 20 years of experience in storage, enterprise IT and engineering. Most recently, he served as CTO and VP of the Western Digital data center business unit, where he was charged with transforming the company from a storage device company to a systems and information management company. His previous experience includes a 16-year career with Hewlett-Packard, where he held various executive and senior level technical and engineering positions including CTO, software-defined storage, and CTO, SANs. He joined Hewlett-Packard in 2002 through its merger with Compaq Computer, where he served as CTO of the multi-billion-dollar Compaq enterprise storage group.
