IBM Power Systems Offers Mellanox
IB sourced networking router and switches
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 11, 2017 at 2:34 pmIBM Corp. offers the EDR 36-port IB Router FAF, EDR TOR 36-port IB2 Switch FAF, EDR TOR 36-port IB2 Switch RAF, and EDR Unmanaged TOR 36-port IB2 Switch FAF Systems made by Mellanox Technologies, Ltd.
The router and switches offer the highest performance fabric solutions in a 1U form factor, delivering up to 7Tb/s of nonblocking bandwidth to high-performance computing and enterprise data centers, with a 90ns rated port-to-port latency.
Performance:
- 36 EDR 100Gb/s ports in a 1U switch
- 7Tb/s aggregate switch throughput
- 90ns switch latency
Optimized design:
- 1+1 redundant and hot-swappable power
- N+1 redundant and hot-swappable fans
- 80 gold+ and Energy Star-certified power supplies
Built with Mellanox’s Switch-IB2 IB switch device, the switches deliver up to 100Gb/s full bidirectional bandwidth per port. These stand-alone switches are an ideal choice for top-of-rack leaf connectivity or for building small to medium-sized clusters. They are designed to carry converged LAN and SAN traffic with the combination of assured bandwidth and granular QoS.
The integrated IB routing function enables design and deployment of larger-scale IB fabrics. Its low-latency enables fast communications within and across the data center. IB routing also enables fabric isolation between different cluster segments (compute/network and storage).
Key prerequisites: IBM Power Systems servers
Planned availability date: December 22, 2017
