Atempo Acquired Synerway
Two of few French storage firms
By Jean Jacques Maleval | November 30, 2017 at 2:46 pmFew weeks after becoming independent with Woxoo at the beginning of the year 2017 under the leaderhip of CEO Luc d’Urso, and not being anymore under ASG Technologies since 2011, French company Atempo SAS, in archiving and data protection, has acquired other French firm Synerway in backup appliances for SMBs for an undisclosed but probably small amount as the acquired company was put once more in bankruptcy (redressement judiciaire in French, equivalent of Chapter XI in USA), more recently by the Tribunal of Nanterre last August.
According to societe.com, revenue were only €1.8 million in FY2015. It was €6 million in 2012.
In the past, Atempo (formerly Quadratec), born in 1992, acquired Storactive in CDP software in 2016 and Lighthouse Global Technologies in email archiving software in 2008.
On its side, Synerway, founded in 2002 by Christian Maillard, was bought in 2013 by Noël Minard et Yann Rolland, partners of Resadia Group. It claims 10,000 appliances now installed in the world with current offering with capacity from 1 to 144TB and a new more modern one to come with finally source de-dupe, replication to public and private clouds, to be implemented as a software, an appliance or in cloud mode.
