One Stop Systems Licenses Western Digital ION Flash Storage Accelerator Software

One Stop Systems, Inc. (OSS), provider of all-flash arrays, announced a license agreement with Western Digital Corporation for its ION Flash Storage Accelerator Software.

The agreement allows OSS to develop and market the software, providing enhancements to a flash file system. It has provided a stable platform for many military, finance and other pure high speed flash storage applications. ION has a pedigree of storage for HD video content delivery, social media platforms, high-speed data recorders, financial transactions, government training systems and many more applications.

The ION software defines flexibility by supporting a variety of storage interfaces such as 100GbE, 32Gb FC and 100Gb IB. The interfaces support protocols such as iSCSI, SRP and FC. It also features active-standby HA with synchronous replication. Multiple data protection options are provided through HA and the support of RAID-,RAID-1, RAID-5 or RAID-10. When the application calls for pure speed, the ION software supports LUN masking and JBOD mode for scenarios where high IO/s trumps data protection. The software also allows for server consolidation by removing storage bottlenecks in virtualized environments. This allows more VMs to be provisioned in a virtualized environment per storage system thereby reducing TCO verses traditional storage or less efficient, open source flash file systems.
