Hitachi Vantara Federal Closes Asset Transfer Agreement With Brocade

For certain U.S. Federal sensitive assets and service maintenance contracts

Hitachi Vantara Federal Corporation, wholly-owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., completed a definitive agreement to assume the transfer and control of certain Brocade Communications Systems, Inc.‘s U.S. Federal sensitive assets and service maintenance contracts.

Under the terms of the agreement, the completion of the transaction occurred coincident with the close of Broadcom Limited‘s acquisition of Brocade that recently occurred.

Financial terms of Hitachi Vantara Federal’s agreement with Brocade were not disclosed.

The Brocade assets gained from the agreement include sensitive data center networking, campus/edge networking, and SANing service maintenance contracts. The arrangement supports Hitachi Vantara Federal’s transformation strategy to broaden its portfolio of federal offerings to support complex intelligence and engineering solutions for its customers.

The acquisition of these assets moves us closer to our mission of becoming a full-service data provider with the best IP, domain expertise, and data-driven technology to meet the broad spectrum of our clients’ needs in big data, analytics and the IoT,” said David Turner, Hitachi Vantara Federal president and CEO. “Adding Brocade’s networking component to our infrastructure, software and analytics portfolio strengthens our IP-based networking and software-defined architecture capabilities that we can now offer to our Federal customers.

In addition to the assumed service maintenance contracts, nearly two dozen Brocade technical engineers transferred to Hitachi Vantara Federal to continue supporting the assumed contracts. Acquiring these professionals gives the company in-house Brocade expertise to implement solutions and to provide on-sight technical support to its customers.
