IT Press Tour #24 Recap

Nine companies visited in security, big data, IoT, cloud and storage

2nd visit in Israel and globally 24th edition, the IT Press Tour just operated again a tour a few days ago meeting executives with innovative projects.

We feel a special atmosphere in Israel each time we go there with the constant innovation and wish to impact the world. This is a common denominator we found out with meetings with leaders, founders and engineers from companies playing in different space. The country is active in many segments that we have decided to meet companies in various IT space such security, big data, IoT, cloud and storage.

During this edition, 9 companies were visited from the very young – just 4 months of existence – to more established ones trying to disrupt the market.

  • Axonius just launched a few months ago by Dean Sysman, CEO and co-founder of Cymmetria, Avidor Bartov, CTO, and Ofri Shur, CPO. The company has a mission to control and manage large IoT and mobile infrastructure. It is growing fast following a rapid term sheet signature in just 16 calendar days.
  • Aqua Security plays in the hot container segment addressing security supporting container management and orchestration from Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, Mesosphere and CoreOS. The company was founded in 2015 and has raised so far $38 million.
  • CloudEndure belongs to the small group of players delivering multi-cloud DR and workload migration with C3DNA, Velostrata or CloudVelox. The firm, founded in 2012 by Leonid Fainberg, Ofir Ehrlich, Gil Shai, Ofer Gadish, who already launched AcceloWeb sold later to Limelights Networks, has raised $25 million. CloudEndure build a agent-based solution to move/copy data from/to on-premises from/to public cloud such AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Coralogix, founded in 2014, develops a log analytics SaaS platform that improves the delivery and maintenance process for software providers. Able to manage and process tons of data, the service is running on AWS and Azure. The company leverages proprietary machine learning algorithms to reduce issue resolution time. The demo of the product was impressive.
  • Elastifile, one of the hottest file storage company, continues to gain market traction with an unique cloud approach named cloud-native data fabric. The firm that changed a bit is original promise to integrate now natively the cloud and develops Elastifile Cloud File System, aka ECFS, to build a global file presence bridging on-premise sites and various cloud entities. The company should announce an OEM agreement soon.
  • Illusive Networks, founded in 2014 by Ofer Isreali supported by Team8, plays in the recent cyber security deception segment. The company deploys an additional reality that cheats the attacker and are immediately identified.
  • Reduxio Systems, second visit, introduced recently NoMigrate and NoRestore extending its data mobility capabilities across geos. NoMigrate works with any iSCSI array and NoRestore supports iSCSI as well but also S3 based cloud storage and AWS.
  • StorONE, founded in 2011 by Gal Naor, founder of Storwize sold to IBM in 2014 for $140 million, just unveiled its company with the press group. We wrote an early article in August 2016 when the company has exhibited in VMworld US 2016. The idea is to deliver the real results in term of performance based on the physical resource deployed. The firm has developed a disrupted multi-protocol SDS able to serve block, file and object promoting at less than $0.01/GB.
  • Webhose.io, founded in 2010 by Ran Geva and Guy Mor, offers an advanced data crawling API service. It gives the user an intuitive access to data from hundreds of thousands of web sources globally. It is already adopted by a few large companies such IBM for Watson, Salesforce and others like Sprinklr.

The next IT Press Tour, 25th edition, will take place in California, first week of December.
