This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 6, 2017 at 2:35 pmPhantom, in security automation and orchestration, announced Dave DeWalt, former FireEye and McAfee CEO, has been appointed as vice chairman of its board of directors.
“Dave’s track record is well known in the security industry, and we’re really excited to welcome him to the board of directors,” said Oliver Friedrichs, Phantom founder and CEO. “As the leader in security automation and orchestration, it’s great to have an industry icon like Dave join our board. Dave has extensive experience in building innovative, market-leading companies and advising Fortune 1000 CXOs. His commitment to Phantom and our growing community is a welcomed endorsement of our success to date and the opportunity that lies ahead.”
DeWalt has more than 25 years in the technology space, holding a series of leadership positions in some successful companies. He most recently served as FireEye‘s CEO. Previously, he was McAfee‘s president and CEO, and led the acquisition of McAfee by Intel for $7.7 billion in 2010. Prior to McAfee, DeWalt served in a number of executive positions at EMC Corporation. He also has held top leadership positions at Documentum, Quest Software, Segue, and Oracle Corporation.
“Phantom is leading a secular shift in the industry,” said DeWalt. “Companies have made significant investments for defense in depth, and now they are turning to automation and orchestration platforms to connect the massive array of technologies they already own while reducing the response and remediation gap caused by limited resources, an increasing threat surface, and the overwhelming complexity of their infrastructures.“
With the appointment of DeWalt, Pboard of directors currently consists of five members, also including: Oliver Friedrichs, Phantom’s founder and CEO, Ted Schlein, General Partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Tom Noonan, General Partner at TechOperators and former chairman and CEO of Internet Security Systems, and Todd Headley, former CFO of Sourcefire.
