IBM Spectrum Protect V8.1.3 delivers simplified deployment and intelligent cloud storage integration

IBM Spectrum Protect V8.1.3 simplifies deployment and expands cloud storage integration with the following capabilities:

  • Simplified deployments and lower administration costs with centralized and automated client updates from the Operations Center
  • IBM Spectrum Protect Suite -IBM Cloud Object Storage Tier offering is a lower priced option for storing data in IBM Cloud Object Storage
  • Tier to cloud by age for container pools enables leveraging of fast storage for operational recoveries and lower-cost cloud storage for long term retention
  • More resilient backups to cloud with self-throttling of data ingest enables Spectrum Protect to automatically manage inconsistent bandwidth when writing to cloud storage
  • Spectrum Protect server support for Linux x86_64 for Ubuntu

Key prerequisites
Supported by IBM Spectrum Protect (5725-W98), IBM Spectrum Protect Extended Edition (5725-W99), and IBM Spectrum Protect for Data Retention (5725-X15). Libraries that have more than four drives or more than 48 tape slots require a license for IBM Spectrum Protect Extended Edition.
