Official Release of Linux Center for NAS by Asustor

Virtualization technology to integrate NAS OS with Linux

Asustor Inc. has announced the official launch of Linux Center for its NAS devices.

The company has utilized virtualization technology to integrate its NAS OS with Linux, allowing firm’s NAS to become a complete secondary development and application solution for the IoT era. All NAS users are invited to experience this lightweight virtual environment along with its variety of apps.

Functions for Linux Center include:

  • Flexible use of Linux App: The native Linux system can be directly run on the NAS. This is convenient for developers and users who wish to utilize Linux for development purposes and also allows them to make use of the a variety of app resources provided by Linux.

  • Easy installation with just one touch: Linux Center supports Debian 8 Desktop and Debian 8 Server. Users can download and install the Linux system by clicking on the installation button without needing any other configurations.

  • HDMI output on command: Firm’s NAS HDMI function can be utilized to display Linux Center’s interface on any compatible monitor for development purposes and to make use of the rich variety of Linux apps, allowing users to create their own Linux virtual space.

  • Supported models: Linux Center is available for use on AS31/32, AS50/51, AS61/62/63/64 and AS70 series devices. It is recommended to be used with at least 4GB of RAM.
