Iron Mountain Expanding Partnership With Virtustream/Dell

Iron Mountain Incorporated announced that Virtustream, Inc., the enterprise cloud company and a Dell Technologies business, has chosen to expand its cloud footprint by locating in Iron Mountain’s Northern Virginia data center (or “VA-1”).

Virtustream cited security, compliance and scalability as reasons for the selection.

The firm is an enterprise cloud company that is trusted by organizations worldwide to migrate and run their mission-critical applications in the cloud. For enterprises, service providers and government agencies, Virtustream xStream Management Platform and Infrastructure-as-a-Service meets the security, compliance, performance, efficiency and consumption-based billing requirements of complex production applications in the cloud – whether private, public or hybrid.

Iron Mountain’s long-term growth plan for its Northern Virginia campus includes four data centers and 60 megawatts of long-term capacity. Data center compliance matched Virtustream’s FISMA High, HIPAA, PCI-DSS Level 1, SOC 2 Type II, SOC 3 and ISO 27001 capabilities and ISO 50001, which is projected by the end of 2017.

Virtustream also plays an important part in Iron Mountain’s service offerings. Last year, the two companies announced that Iron Mountain had selected Virtustream xStream and Virtustream Viewtrust software to orchestrate, automate and secure cloud storage services for Iron Mountain’s cloud-based service offerings, now the Iron Cloud platform.
