Chelsio Demos T6 Unified Wire Adapters With IBM Storwize

Protocol offload using 25GbE

Chelsio Communications, Inc. demonstrated T6 Unified Wire adapters with IBM Corp.‘s Storwize at SNIA Storage Developer Conference on September 11-14 at Santa Clara, CA.

The demonstration consisted of Storwize V7000 with IBM Spectrum Virtualize and the T6 iSCSI and iWARP RDMA hardware protocol offload using 25GbE to reduce latency and enhance application performance. While the range of block-based applications can see performance improvements, latency-sensitive applications, such as OLTP applications, can expect an increase in their performance.

As users continue to deploy storage solutions that are highly scalable in capacity and performance, the efficiency of next-generation storage depends heavily on Ethernet storage networking performance,” said Kianoosh Naghshineh, CEO, Chelsio. “The Chelsio T6 Unified Wire represents a major proof point that higher performance Ethernet networking enables higher overall storage system scalability and application performance, and that offloading the Ethernet storage stack processing is the optimal efficiency solution to deploy.
