Sanmina Acquired Discreetly Irish MPstor One Year Ago

Acquired company in storage software and arrays including all-flash subsystems

Sanmina Corp. has made the discreet acquisition a few months ago – in fact almost one year ago – of MPstor Ltd., an Irish storage vendor dedicated to OEMs.

Sanmina is a well-known provider of design, manufacturing and logistics solutions, especially in server and storage space with its product division Newisys.

Source close to the deal indicated a transaction at around $40 million.

MPstor, founded in 2005, is a specialist of storage software and storage arrays under the Orkestra brand, and more recently all-flash storage subsystems OSA-Fx60 (2U, 60 drives).

The company has concentrated its effort towards OEMs and integrators and this acquisition clearly shows some synergies.

MPstor web site is still visible and accessible without any indication of this move but we found several pointers on Internet. Sanmina doesn’t show any information about it either.
