One of the best - if not the best - German journalist on storage for decades
By Jean Jacques Maleval | September 12, 2017 at 2:33 pmEngelbert (Berti) Hörmannsdorfer, 62, passed away on August 7, 2017.
He had to undergo a planned operation, which has actually been regarded as a standard, in which there were complications from which he could no longer recover.
We met many times our big and strong colleague at press conferences or shows to exchange friendly in English the latest information on the storage industry.
Quiet, affable, courteous, well respected and also hard worker, we considered him as one of the best – if not the best – German journalist in storage for decades. He was writing since 2003 at speicherguide.de, a web site publishing daily news on storage in German language after being chief editor at Markt & Technik. He wrote the book Nanotechnology, which appeared in Finanzbuchverlag.
He was in the same category of storage journalists as Chris Mellor from The Register.
I always had difficulties to remember his complicated complete name. But now, I will never forget him.
