Cloudera Acquired Fast Forward Labs

In machine learning and applied artificial intelligence

Machine learning is an area of interest in every business. It offers organizations of all types the opportunity to move from simply viewing their data to proactively acting upon it.

It is allowing Cloudera, Inc.‘s customers to grow revenues through customer insights and pattern recognition, to better connect their products and services to predict problems before they arise, and to protect their businesses by detecting anomalies in their data.

Many of the company’s customers are adopting its new product offering for their data scientists – Cloudera Data Science Workbench. It provides them an open environment to collaborate where they can work with their favorite libraries and frameworks, from TensorFlow to Python to R, all while securely accessing their production data environment – something every security professional and IT administrator can appreciate.

The challenge is that even with powerful tools and a clear business imperative to investigate machine learning and AI, staying on top of the latest thinking can be difficult given the fast pace of innovation. Cloudera has a solution to help everyone stay up to speed on the rapidly evolving machine learning landscape with powerful insights and proven techniques.

Cloudera announced that it has acquired Fast Forward Labs, a top-tier applied research and advisory services company. Fast Forward Labs specializes in machine learning and applied AI. This Brooklyn-based company was founded by Hilary Mason – a renowned data scientist. Now known as Cloudera Fast Forward Labs, the team will concentrate on practical research into new approaches to data science and applying research to business problems that are broadly applicable to a variety of industries and applications.

Cloudera will benefit from those insights directly, and to bring more talent to the company.
