Akonia Holographics LLC, Longmont, CO, and Hitachi Consumer Electronics, Co., Ltd.,Tokyo, Japan, has been assigned a patent (9,715,426) developed by Curtis, Kevin R., Longmont, CO, Anderson, Ken E., Schlottau, Friso, Boulder, CO, Ide, Tatsuro, Kawasak, Japan, Shimada, Ken'ichi, Shimano, Takeshi, Yokohama, Japan, and Miyamoto, Harukazu, Tokyo, Japan, for a "monocular holographic data storage system and method thereof."

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: "A monocular holographic storage device or system to provide for compact recording and/or reading of data pages in a holographic storage medium. Also provided are methods for carrying out such data storage and/or data recovery using a monocular holographic storage device or system. Further provided are articles including holographic storage media for recording or for reading recorded data using such devices or systems."
