IBM Copy Services Manager V6.2.0 delivers replication management with simplified and automated replication tasks

IBM Copy Services Manager (CSM) is a replication management solution that delivers central control of the replication environment while helping to simplify and automate complex replication tasks.

With CSM, you can coordinate copy services on a variety of IBM storage systems, including DS8000, SAN Volume Controller (SVC), Storwize V7000, and XIV. You can help prevent errors and increase system continuity using source and target volume matching, site awareness, DR testing, and standby management.

IBM CSM V6.2.0 offers the following improvements
over the previously released V6.1.4:

Better handling of certificate support for DS8000 series hardware management console (HMC)
Support user defined groups for sessions in the GUI
Improved handling for status on Ficon-attached storage
Toleration with iSeries distributed storage systems
Advanced Edit for LDAP Configuration within the GUI including syntax editor for improved customer usability
Removed requirement on zOS to start IWNAUTH by default
Support for FlashSystem A9000 and A9000R
Support for managing zOS HyperSwap across multiple sessions with different session types (asymmetric configurations) in the same sysplex

Collect CSM CSV file for Global Mirror Statistics through remote CLI
Improved Remote Copy Set GUI wizard allowing for filtering and sorting, as well as the ability to remove copy sets through a CSV input file

CSM supports Metro Mirror, FlashCopy, and Global Mirror on the DS8000 and SVC hardware platforms. Advanced DR functions are also supported with failover/failback (planned and unplanned) from a primary site to a DR site. It can also monitor the performance of the copy services that provide a measurement of the amount of replication and the amount of time that is required to complete the replication operations. It also supports multitarget with practice capability for both Metro Mirror and Global Mirror.

By using CSM on IBM DS storage devices, tasks that took up to five steps can be accomplished in just one. The practice session in CSM enables to test DR environment without interfering with daily operations to run a practice session before performing the actual action.
