Chad Savoy VP WW Sales, Spanning Cloud Apps

Spanning Cloud Apps LLC, provider of SaaS data protection, announced the expansion of its executive team to help the company meet the increasing demand for its backup and recovery solutions for SaaS applications.

As the company continues to grow across the globe and expand its product portfolio, these new appointments will help fuel product innovation and sales growth.

Chad Savoy has joined Spanning as VP, WW sales, where he will develop strategies to help the company achieve its sales goals. Prior to joining Spanning, he served as VP sales at Vyopta Incorporated. He has also held VP sales positions at Datadog, Cornerstone OnDemand and SolarWinds, where he helped create and refine the SolarWinds sales process. Recognized as a best practice in the software industry, SolarWinds sales process contributed to growing the company from a start-up to a profitable publicly traded company.

Spanning has also appointed former SolarWinds executive Paul Strelzick to its board of directors as executive chairman. With experience building efficient and profitable sales models and growth strategies, he will help guide Spanning in its post-divestiture growth phase. From 2007 to early 2017, he served as EVP and president of WW sales at SolarWinds where, in 2009, he led the company to an IPO, followed by a $4.5 billion P/E buy-out by Thoma Bravo and Silver Lake Partners in 2016. He currently serves on the board of directors of Unitrends, provider of enterprise backup and continuity solutions and also acts as an advisor and consultant to several Insight Venture Partners portfolio companies.

Andrea Adams, formerly director of engineering, has been promoted to VP of engineering. With over 20 years of experience, she oversees all facets of product engineering from development to DevOps. She is focused on delivering high-value, highly available products to the growing customer base while at the same time cultivating an engaging engineering environment that fosters innovation and professional growth.

Brian Rutledge, a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), has come on board as principal security engineer, bringing 20 years of IT security experience across various aspects of the SaaS, cloud, consulting and telecommunications industries. He previously served as a security consultant for Trustwave, where he helped clients meet their compliance obligations by evaluating their business, technology and operations against security standards for PCI DSS or HIPAA. Prior to that, he served for more than 15 years as systems consultant, cloud services, compliance and program management, for Verizon Wireline. He has also served as systems admin, operations, for MCI Telecommunications, and wafer process electronics and equipment technician for Motorola Semiconductor.
