Western Gets Restraining Order on Toshiba Over Blocking of Access
Western Digital, in a legal and negotiating battle with its joint-venture partner in NAND chips, Toshiba, this afternoon said it has obtained a temporary restraining order to head off Toshiba from blocking access to information about those joint ventures. The court order prevents, “among other things,” said Western, Toshiba’s “preventing certain employees from accessing shared databases regarding the three NAND flash-memory joint ventures operated with SanDisk.” The order also restrains Toshiba “from refusing to ship certain engineering wafers and samples to us in Milpitas, CA.”
