TBConsulting Deployed Nutanix

Nutanix, Inc. announced that TBConsulting, LLC, a provider of managed IT services, has deployed its Enterprise Cloud Platform to power and scale its virtual desktop environment from 600 to over 4,000 virtual desktops.

In order to meet increasing demand from its healthcare clients, TBConsulting needed a higher-performing platform that would provide the ability to scale quickly and improve the speed of application deployment. Previously, the company used a complex infrastructure platform with a homegrown solution comprised of Cisco components, vSphere and VMware Horizon View for its VDI environment consisting of 600 virtual desktops. After vetting several vendors, TBConsulting determined Nutanix was the solution for its fast-growth VDI offering based on VMware Horizon View.

After purchasing 24 NX-3000 systems, TBConsulting was able to deploy over 4,000 virtual desktops for its healthcare customers in few weeks, compared to the months it would have taken with its previous infrastructure, based on past experience. While delivering thousands of new desktops, it has reduced its effort to maintain its VDI environment by 5x and obtained a 4x reduction in footprint compared to its traditional infrastructure solution, directly translating to far lower operating costs. The Nutanix solution has helped TBConsulting create a differentiated X-Powered service offering with clear value for its end-users, including user experience, scalability and agility.

Services built on X-Powered platforms carry the reliability, availability and performance of the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform.

To handle regulatory, compliance and DR requirements, TBConsulting is also adding a 32-node cluster to its current deployment and will be replicating from Phoenix to San Diego, using Nutanix replication. TBConsulting’s total Nutanix footprint has now grown to over 100 nodes. The managed services provider uses the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform to deliver desktops as a service (DaaS), DR as a service (DRaaS) and infrastructure as a service (IaaS), leveraging multiple enterprise-grade tools. TBConsulting also has established a datacenter in Las Vegas, NV and several other locations throughout the US using the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform.
