Overland-Tandberg RDX Utility for Mac Software

Overland-Tandberg, a storage brand that unifies Sphere 3D Corp subsidiaries Overland Storage and Tandberg Data GmbH, announces that the RDX Utility for MAC software is available for download and use.

Customers and press have recognized RDX products for their security and reliability in long-term storage, archive, and backup. In the Windows world, RDX is a standard device for local backup storage with SMBs. The latest utility release targeting Mac software and users, allows integration in graphics and data rich production workflows.

Overland-Tandberg is celebrating the 10th anniversary of RDX technology, which continues to deliver fast backup and restore capabilities for cost-efficient, long-term storage and archive solutions. It combines the portability and reliability of tape-based backup with the speed and simplicity of a HDDs and/or SSDs. Ruggedized RDX cartridges are shockproof, can sustain a one-meter drop onto a concrete floor, are protected against electrostatic discharge events, and support an archival lifetime of more than ten years.

The RDX Utility for Mac software enables creative professionals, in industries such as graphic design, desktop publishing and video-broadcasting, to utilize a reliable and trusted storage and archive solution for their data-rich production workflows.

In addition, whereas data exchange and transport is a challenge for customers utilizing cloud storage providers, RDX delivers a fast and effective alternative. It is a plug-and-play solution that appears as a standard hard drive to the Mac and is also integrated with Mac Time-Machine tool for backup and with other data management and protection applications targeting disk devices.

The RDX Utility for Mac software is available for download for all Overland-Tandberg RDX offerings, including RDX QuikStor, RDX QuikStation, and RDX QuikStation 8.
