In SSD real time array

Founded in 2013 and based in San Jose, CA, Vexata, Inc. is in stealth mode and preparing a new SSD real time array supposed to be faster than all other all-flash arrays including Pure Storage’s products.

The company raised a total of $49 million:

  • $5 million series A round in February 2014
  • $22 million series B round in September 2014
  • $22 million series B1 round in July 2016

Zahid Hussain is founder, president and CEO of the company. He was formerly SVP and GM, flash products division, EMC, principal engineering at VMware, founder and CEO of Atomic Qloud, VP engineering at Brocade and at Cosine Communications, chief scientist at SGI and principal engineer at Digital Equipment Corporation.

Vexata has apparently R&D in Bangalore, India, where is working Vijayendra Shamanna formerly at SanDisk and Copio Data.

Its product is an all solid-state real time array with:

  • Real time architecture
  • Latency optimized: Unmatched response time across large data sets.
  • Fabric attached: Plug and play into existing shared storage environments.
  • New generation media: Supports latest flash and new storage-class memory SSDs.
  • Enterprise class: Enterprise availability, data protection and data services.

Vexata said it delivers data systems that empower businesses to operate faster and smarter than ever before. Its solution eliminates the need to rewrite applications, adjust provisioning and performance knobs, add caching or memory grids, or deal with complex monitoring and troubleshooting. Supposed to be simply and easily deploy into new or existing data-intensive environments, the systems enjoy velocity at massive scale.

It will be supporting Oracle, kx, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, MySQL, splunk, PostgreSQL, SAP, Aerospike and SAS.
