NAB: Motion FX Incorporates in US as Acromove

Acromove Inc., a manufacturer of hyper-converged portable NAS and Thunderbolt RAID equipment, formerly known as Motion FX, has chosen Los Angeles, CA for its new HQs.

The new offices are in the Universal Loft complex near Universal Studios.

Acromove makes the ThunderPack portable Thunderbolt 2 RAID system used by movie and TV production companies. Two products were introduced at NAB 2017 creating the need to have a bigger presence in the entertainment capital.

Their new products – ThunderPack Miniand ServerPack – will expand opportunities requiring new resources to be put into place.

“Our investors are behind this move 100%“, states CTO Evangelos Achillopoulos. “They recognized that we needed to increase our presence in one of our main markets, and that the US office will help expand our efforts throughout the Western Hemisphere. We are able to handle European and Asian business from our office in Athens.“

“ThunderPack Mini will be popular with the digital production community,” said Steve Crouch, VP sales Americas. “With Thunderbolt 2 or 3 interfaces and 8-40TB capacity, it has the bandwidth and storage to handle big projects quickly. It has a unique shockproof form factor that can be stowed in airline overhead compartments. There’s nothing like it.“

The ServerPack is a hyper-converged platform for moving large data sets and edge-of-the-cloud environments. It features a Xeon 8-12 core processor and up to 120TB of storage in a portable package based on the original ThunderPack design.

“Los Angeles is the logical place for us to have our first office outside of Europe,” said CEO Artemis Achillopoulos. “We will have a fully staffed support center, as well as Sales and Marketing personnel.“

The company will continue to manufacture its products in Athens. The new office will officially open in April.
