NAB: Archion Unveils Shared Storage Solutions for UHD Video Applications

EditStor Omni and EditStor Velo with high speed network, and enhancements to service offerings and channel program

In conjunction with NAB 2017, Archion Technologies, Inc. will be announcing several additions to its products and services offerings, as well as enhancements to its authorized channel partner program.

The company will also be raffling a full turnkey EditStor Velo.

The company is renowned within the creative storage industry for offering intelligent, shared storage solutions – solutions that support collaborative 4K, 8K and 360 video workflows: including DPX, standards based compatibility, expansion up to 2.4PB, speeds of 8,000MB/s and IO/s in excess of 600,000, and management user interfaces for multiple audiences.

In addition to firm’s nearly two decades of delivering performance shared storage solutions for content creation professionals, company’s patented IP, which provides virtualized dynamic storage that accelerates the throughput and speed of the backplanes, protocols, Ethernet connections, and the overall chassis performance, is what differentiates from the competition.

The combination of company’s IP, experience, broad capabilities and high scalability give creative teams the confidence to invest in firm’s single, centralized solution – one designed to grow with them as the workflow demands within their infrastructures also grow.

NAB 2017 presence follows the firm’s successful 2016 show in which SSD solutions were introduced to improve the IO/s performance needed for many media workflows, such as visual effects. This year, the company will be introducing all flash products that will deliver bandwidth and IO/s speeds far in excess of existing EditStor solutions and other flash solutions within a comparable price range.

During NAB 2017, the firm will be using workflow applications such as Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, Blackmagic Resolve and more, to demonstrate how capable EditStor models are in handling demanding workflows, such as 4K DPX.

Additionally, the company will be showcasing its new networked User Interface (UI) for EditStor, which was based on feedback from firm’s clients and their requirements for collaboration and ease within their workflows. The whole UI has shared group control custom features like changing volume names and description of shares that are updated to all users.

While existing HDD based solutions such as EditStor Omni and EditStor Velo deliver speeds and overall price and performance, company’s all flash solutions will deliver the performance required to handle the next generation of 4K, 8K and 360-degree workflows.

Regarding his company’s position within the creative storage solutions marketplace, Reuben Lima, CEO, Archion, said: “We are continuing our pursuit to bring our clients the best price performance in the industry while protecting their original investment with Archion. This year we will be announcing greater performance with flash technology. The best part is our existing customers can take advantage of this performance by simply upgrading their drives and retaining their original Archion hardware. This is a testament to the fact that we work to bring our customers the latest in technology without requiring a forklift upgrade or additional appliance hardware. Come visit us at NAB and see the performance that the competition does not want you to see. We will be demonstrating our technology and providing attendees hands-on demos with our system to work freely instead of conforming to a structured demo.

James Tucci, CTO, Archion, adds: “We have continued to advance our EditStor platform so that content creation professionals can easily move from one workflow or editing application to another without changes – other than launching the next editing software. Media is always available in one centralized EditStor storage server, and there is no special formatting or procedure required for high speed DPX.

Channel development:
The company has been dedicated to the channel, inclusive of solution providers, system integrators, and more, and at NAB 2017 will be announcing multiple enhancements to its channel program by which to further enable the company’s success.

Dan Stern, VP, business development, Archion, says: “NAB is a terrific place for potential resellers to meet members of our team and learn about the multiple solutions we have to offer their prospects and customers. It’s also a great opportunity to sit down and discuss how Archion’s program is geared toward addressing reseller challenges, keeping requirements low, improving margins, and developing qualified referrals.

Customer support:
With customer satisfaction at the core of company’s mission statement, the firm will also be announcing at NAB 2017 the expansion of its annual support programs – these programs will now include both extended hardware warranties, as well as semi-annual system health and optimization evaluations. These additions will come at no extra charge to company’s customers, and are just part of the firm’s consistent goal of exceeding customer expectations.
