FileFly Secondary Storage Platform From Caringo

Caringo, Inc. announced the FileFly Secondary Storage Platform, a complete solution that solves the issues associated with Windows Servers bloated with infrequently accessed unstructured data.

Organizations no longer need to waste budget by expanding or upgrading Windows Servers or waste resources evaluating what data is or isn’t useful. They can now maintain their existing servers and add intelligent data transfer to a limitless tier of scale-out secondary storage at a quarter of the cost. In addition, primary storage is optimized, disk I/O is reduced and storage silos are consolidated. The FileFly Secondary Storage Platform is for remote office consolidation, enabling collaboration and simplifying data protection.

The solution, powered by FileFly 2.0 and company’s Swarm, utilizes policies based on file attributes and access patterns to determine what data can be moved. Data transfer is automated and transparent to users, applications and processes. Once on the secondary tier, data is continuously protected and files transparently migrate back to primary storage upon access, leaving workflows and applications unaffected.
