Service Pack 1 for ActiveImage Protector Backup and Restore Procedures From NetJapan

NetJapan, Inc. announces the availability of Service Pack 1 for its ActiveImage Protector range, an update to its backup product line.

This Service Pack 1 includes support for Windows 2016 and also enhanced features that benefit businesses using ActiveImage Protector software and organisations trying to improve backup time, restore time and reduce backup storage space.

With the rise of hybrid environments, more organisations run their business applications in a mixture of physical, virtual and cloud environments. With Service Pack 1, firm’s speeds up backup and onsite/offsite recovery procedures across any physical and virtual platforms from Windows Server 2008/Vista to the Windows Server 2016/10. It also reduces the size of backup with its enhanced deduplication on-the-fly resulting in lower required storage space on and offsite.

“We have deliberately invested an intensive period of testing Service Pack 1 to meet the needs of as many customers as possible and in terms of performance for each supported platform. Our most experienced customers already have Service Pack 1 and are 100% satisfied” said Richard Zinner, CTO, EMEA.

The Service Pack 1 for Windows is released and its Linux equivalent is going to be available in the coming weeks so companies can benefit of fast backup, restore and instant DR independently from the type of environment or platforms they are using.

Furthermore, the company improves its free add-on ImageBoot installer – it allows to boot a VM from a full or incremental backup file in only two minutes – by adding support for the latest Oracle VirtualBox, Hyper-V Server 2016 and VMware Workstation Pro/Player 12. ImageBoot can be used to test the recoverability of a backup chain, to create a test environment or to boot a VM as failover in case of emergency. With the increasing number of threats, companies have been using this instant availability options more and more, it’s available for free with ActiveImage Protector.
