Yonex, in the racket sports industry, was faced with the urgent task of finding the best BC plan for their environment. After research to find the best recovery options in both cost and operation points, Yonex adopted a ‘DR/Backup solution’ from HOTnet’s managed service. They decided on this solution because of the mobile capabilities, which enable instant recovery from anywhere, offering protection from unexpected events without additional costs or human resources.

Yonex is remotely protecting more than 50 servers in their Tokyo, Japan, HQs site from their Hokkaido site.

Recovery can be accomplished with just one call,” said R. Katamoto, director of information systems, Yonex. “After implementing this service, operations have been consolidated, allowing us to focus on other tasks without worrying about backups.

Mr. Takayanagi, manager of information systems, Yonex added: “We are consistently able to start our recovery server smoothly during DR exercises. I’m very confident that there are no issues with our daily backups and I will be able to establish a recovery environment with minimal system downtime.

The DR / backup solution service Yonex has deployed was developed by FalconStor and uses FreeStor data protection technology. Customers are able to replicate snapshot data to a datacenter in Hokkaido via HOTnet’s WAN service. Customers can also set up automated recovery of servers, storage, networks and applications.

BC plans are a challenge for many companies that lack the resources necessary to select the right BC plan for their environment.

Using the cloud services powered by FreeStor, companies can implement and deploy the right BC plan/DR solution, not only for on-premise systems but for datacenter and cloud environments as well,” said Masayuki Morimoto, president, FalconStor Japan.
