Raidix and Panasonic Signed Memorandum of Strategic Partnership

At the Japan-Russia Summit in Tokyo for joint marketing program in 2016-2017

Panasonic Corporation, Panasonic Russia and Raidix, LLC have signed a memorandum of cooperation under the auspices of the Japan-Russia Business Dialog and the official visit of president Putin to Japan.

At the same event, Panasonic Russia company and Skolkovo Foundation signed an agreement setting strategic areas of business cooperation in 2017.

According to the memorandum, the parties plan to develop and implement a joint marketing program in 2016-2017 – aiming to enter the market with a Russian-Japanese hardware and software solution for big data processing and storage.

Sales of the new product will start in Russia in the first quarter of 2017. The first users of the Russian-Japanese know-how will be Russian medical institutions, museums, universities, public archives and public libraries.

Experts from Raidix and Panasonic are working on a new IT architecture for several customers. ELAR, IGS and Raidix will become the distributors of the solutions in Russia.

These companies’ key objective will be to provide customers with solutions including servers, Panasonic storage system and Raidix software.

Technical support will be performed in Russia by local specialists.

At the same venue, a partnership agreement was signed between Panasonic, Panasonic Russia and Skolkovo Foundation. The parties intend to make use of their core competencies and resources in favor of the national economies of Russia and Japan strengthening co-operation proposed by enterprises of both countries.

The parties will focus on the development of innovation in high-tech and export-oriented industries – biomedicine, robotics, information and storage, urban technologies and agriculture.

Panasonic experts are going to participate in designing of Moscow International Medical Centre based on Skolkovo Innovation Center; to involve Skolkovo start-ups in development and implementation of advanced technologies for indoor farming and urban management; to support Skolkovo initiatives in the area of promotion of technological entrepreneurship in Russia and the development of regional systems.

One of the goals of cooperation is to increase commercial and industrial potential of the Far East of the Russian Federation.

Viktor Vekselberg, president, Skolkovo Foundation, said: “Today Skolkovo Foundation has signed an important document with Panasonic, the world`s leader in electronics and system solutions. I`d like to point out that this is not the first step of our cooperation, but its development and expansion. Our first partnership agreement was signed two years ago exactly. The new document represents a roadmap intended to join our forces in creation of clean and comfortable city environment and development of technological start-ups. This agreement symbolizes evolution of Skolkovo Foundation and Panasonic relationships, as well as strengthening of cooperation between Russia and Japan in the field of innovations in general.

In addition to mentoring and support towards start-ups, which allows combining Japanese and Russian know-how, Panasonic Russia will participate in organization of scientific conferences and seminars for young innovators, taking place at Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (SkolTech). The foundation also plans to organize a business mission to Japan for its start-ups including a special visit to Panasonic Center Tokyo and manufacturing plants of Japanese corporation.

Junichi Suzuki, president, Panasonic Russia, said: “In just a few years Skolkovo has become a major center of innovations and technological entrepreneurship in Russia with ambitious development programs, covering both infrastructure and intellectual resources. And we are glad to expand cooperation with the Fund and its residents for multiple areas, including IT, ‘smart home’ and ‘smart cities’, as well as agricultural business.
