SSDs Continue Strong Growth
Client Units Rise 14% Q/Q to 33.7 Million
Enterprise Lifts 12% to 4.6 Million
All enterprise interfaces and client form factors post higher sequential units –
enterprise PCIe doubles Q/Q
- Client SSDs rise to almost 34 million units shipped, posting continued growth for both modules and drive form factor (DFF).
- Client modules jump 19.5% Q/Q to 15.4 million units, outpacing the growth percentages of client DFF.
- Both M.2 SATA and M.2 PCIe client modules grew Q/Q, with M.2 SATA slightly edging out PCIe.
- Even though enterprise PCIe units leaped a phenomenal 101% Q/Q to 417,000 units, enterprise SATA SSDs still dominate units shipped with over 3.4 million SSDs, followed by SAS SSDs with 712,000 units shipped.
- Capacity shipped for all SSDs reached 13.87EB, increasing nearly 16% Q/Q and representing over 40% of all NAND shipped.
