Archion NDI Certified Shared Media Storage Solutions Distributed to Digital Resellers

Through US Broadcast

Archion Technologies, Inc., in shared storage solutions for media workflows, has been selected by US Broadcast, LLC for channel distribution.

Archion’s products deliver high storage speeds – contained within the fewest number of chasses -, giving broadcast and content creation facilities the ability to deploy more seat ore demanding applications with fewer storage arrays. This network storage performance enables a single solution for large scale editorial, VFX, color grading, and more.

US Broadcast has just begun to introduce Archion to its growing base of digital media solution providers, so resellers can begin talking about Archion products with their customers. This will help US Broadcast’s customers, by allowing them to purchase solutions through one vendor, simplifying their purchasing process, and bringing better integration to their production solutions.

According to US Broadcast executives, Archion EditStor and MOG Speedrail are product companions. All ingest leads to storage. vMix as a switcher works in 4K, and storing that data can consume a large amount of space. For customers looking to purchase a solution, US Broadcast has done the work of verifying that Archion, vMix, and MOG all work together, so that resellers can recommend the product bundles.

Joe Husson, CEO and co-founder, US Broadcast, said: “We started US Broadcast to provide a digital media ecosystem of complimentary products that could be sold as ‘bundled-solutions,’ or separately. US Broadcast selects vendors whose products fit into one of several ecosystems that we and our resellers specialize in. Archion fits into several of those, particularly within the 4K shared storage space. They were attractive to us because we needed a digital media storage company, and one that was NDI approved.

With experience within the film, television, broadcasting and streaming industries, US Broadcast assists companies in achieving their overall goals and objectives, and helps them deal with the digital market metamorphosis. Their combined expertise in digital media technologies and consultative approaches is used to help solution providers identify the ‘best-of-breed’ devices and technologies. US Broadcast aids its customers in the creation of solutions that meet enterprise demand for multi-platform delivery.

Archion is a natural fit for our distribution ecosystem,” adds Eric Pratt, US Broadcast’s CT, and a 25 year broadcast veteran. “We were seeking a storage component, and what drew us to Archion was their NDI compatibility. The majority of the products that US Broadcast represents can utilize large scale storage, and we envision Archion’s intelligent shared storage solutions fitting in everywhere, from live sports, to post houses working with 4K plus cameras, to storage for centralized ingest and media asset management.

Dan Stern, Archion’s VP of business development, said: “US Broadcast is able to see where our products fit into production environments, and they can clearly explain that to the digital video and broadcast solution providers. They are sure to become an important component of Archion’s channel strategy, by creating greater awareness among the hundreds of resellers and integrators in a variety of verticals in the industry. Their staff is extremely qualified, highly eager, and was enthusiastic about bringing us into their product line. We look forward to a long and fruitful alliance with US Broadcast, as this new relationship will truly contribute to our rapidly expanding growth.

US Broadcast has signed agreements with 8 Manufacturers (VMIX Media, Inc., MOG Technologies, PTZ Optics, N-Sport, Media Fusion, Inc., Hollyland, Darim and Videon Central Inc.), and with hundreds of resellers and systems integrators (the actual number varies from manufacturer to manufacturer).

The company’s primary selection criteria is as follows:

  • Digital media products that compliment one another;
  • NDI approved products and Services;
  • Companies that can provide enough margin (generally in excess of 30%) to create competition.
