Mike Cannon Lead Independent Director, Seagate
Served at Dell, Solectron, Maxtor and IBM.

Shareholders elected all of the 10 company’s board nominees and approved the proposals brought forward in the company’s proxy statement filed September 9, 2016.
In addition, Michael R. Cannon was appointed lead independent director on the company’s board of directors. He has served as a director on Seagate’s board since 2011, replaces Dr. Chong Sup Park who has served as lead independent director on Seagate’s board since 2011. Park has been a board member since 2006 and will continue to serve as a Seagate board director, member of the company’s nominating and corporate governance committee and has been appointed chair of the audit committee, replacing Kristen M. Onken who did not stand for board re-election.
“Dr. Park has contributed greatly in his role as lead director and on behalf of the full board, we thank him for all his many contributions over the last several years. I am pleased that he will now be serving as chair of our audit committee in addition to his other committee responsibilities,” said Steve Luczo, chairman and CEO.

Michael R. Cannon retired in 2009 after a 35 year career in the technology industry. Previously, he served as president, global operations at Dell, CEO of Solectron Corp, an electronic manufacturing services company, and as the CEO of Maxtor Corporation, a disk drive and storage systems manufacturer. Prior to joining Maxtor, he held senior management positions at IBM. He has served on the board of directors of Lam Research Corporation since February 2011, serving on the nominating and governance and audit committees. He was appointed to the board of directors of Dialog Semiconductor plc in February 2013 and serves as chair of the compensation committee and is also a member of the nominating and governance committee. Within the past five years, he was a member of the board of directors of Adobe Systems, retiring from the board after 13 years of service.
