100% Y/Y Growth for Scality Since Beginning of Year
Indirect sales represented 86% in 3Q16

This increase shows the strength of RING software-defined storage and its product innovation.
“Scality is experiencing very healthy growth on all fronts: new customers, expansions across our existing customer base, new product innovation, hiring and our open source launch. We are truly having a banner year,” said Erwan Menard, president and COO. “We are innovating quickly and delivering more value to our customers, especially the Global 2000 Enterprise. The open source S3 Server, has been a huge success with more than 400 weekly downloads and 3,000 downloads since June. The S3 Server allows developers to deploy an S3 compatible server and quickly develop for the S3 API.”
Engineering team has delivered the availability of RING v6.1 in June and v6.2 in September as initially planned, followed by 6.3 this month in October. Such availability of new software versions is the result of the agile methodology and the continuous delivery framework put in place by engineering teams over the last 12 months. With integration and integrated design verification, customers can expect Scality to release a new release every 6 to 10 weeks and bring new functionality to market.
The company continues to focus its attention on partnerships and channels for growth. In Q3, indirect sales represented a record high of 86%. Furthermore, it strengthened its relationship with Cisco, moving to Preferred Solutions Partner status and has certified additional application partners reaching a total of 45 certified applications.
In September, the company launched the ATLAS partner program which provides training, certification, online sales portal and support for channel partners. It also publicized its partnership with OVH, a cloud provider, which just announced that it received $250 million of funding from KKR to develop its hosted private cloud strategy on a global basis.
Scality is growing its worldwide sales presence. Recently, it expanded its European presence with a new German regional center and added Peter Kocur as GM of the DACH region. The German team will have a team of eight people, including sales, pre-sales engineers and technical services dedicated to the DACH region.
