SimpliVity Expands Engineering Lab
At Iron Mountain Boston, MA data center
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 11, 2016 at 2:38 pmIron Mountain Incorporated, in storage and information management services, announced SimpliVity Corp., in hyper-converged infrastructure, has selected its purpose-built Boston, MA data center to host its engineering laboratory to help meet growing demand for its solutions.
“Over the last year, hyperconverged infrastructure has become the fastest-growing division in the IT infrastructure market. And, SimpliVity’s adoption rate is accelerating even faster than the market, putting the company in a continuous state of expansion to meet end-user demand,” said Christian van den Branden, VP of engineering, SimpliVity. “As a result, the data center resources required to support the SimpliVity engineering lab have grown, making colocation the right fit from a cost, capacity, efficiency, and security perspective. Iron Mountain’s 65-year track record of protecting proprietary assets gave us the necessary confidence to trust a third party with the future of our business.“
SimpliVity’s development teams use the engineering lab to create and test new products as well as upgrade and refine its existing offering, including the OmniCube and OmniStack product lines. To accommodate a strong product development pipeline, SimpliVity needed predictable data center capacity over the short and long-term. The proprietary nature of the assets mandated a co-location environment with multiple layers of physical security and a resilient design for maximum availability of lab resources. SimpliVity met these requirements by procuring a dedicated cage at Iron Mountain’s Boston data center in Northborough, MA.
“Hyper-converged infrastructure is an innovative technology that makes organizations more operationally efficient while staying on budget, and SimpliVity is a recognized leader in the space,” said Mark Kidd, SVP and GM, Iron Mountain data centers. “We are pleased to welcome SimpliVity to the Iron Mountain data center ecosystem and look forward to supporting the company’s engineering lab and strategic business objectives.“
Iron Mountain’s Boston co-location facility is a purpose-built data center located on a 54-acre, campus in the Metro West suburb of Northborough, MA The facility serves enterprise and regulated organizations that choose Iron Mountain Boston for its energy efficiency, resilience, compliance support, and layered physical security. The large campus allows Iron Mountain to deliver additional on-site data centers, to meet market demand and provide customers with predictable long-term capacity that meets FISMA High, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI-DSS 3.1, and SOC 2 Type standards.
